Tips

Guest Wi‑Fi in one code

Dictating a long WPA password is slow and error-prone. A Wi‑Fi QR encodes the network name, password and security type so a phone can join after a scan — useful at cafés, co-working desks, showrooms and Airbnb check-in cards.

You still control the network on your router. The code only carries the join details; it does not open your admin panel.

What to enter in the generator

Open the Wi‑Fi tab. Enter the SSID exactly as the router broadcasts it (including capitals and spaces). Choose WPA/WPA2 for almost all modern networks, or mark the network as open only if there is truly no password.

If the SSID is hidden, enable the hidden-network option so phones search for that name. Double-check the password after you type it — one wrong character means every guest fails.

Where to place the print

Reception counters, meeting-room tables and café stands work well. Keep the print large enough to scan from a short step away, with a quiet light background.

Avoid glossy plastic that flares under spotlights. A matte card or a small framed print usually scans more reliably than a shiny sticker on glass.

When the password changes

A classic static Wi‑Fi code hard-codes the password. If you rotate credentials, print a new code or switch to an editable flow via a business account on QRcode Global when you need the same sticker to point at updated details.

For public guest networks, prefer a dedicated guest SSID that does not unlock your private LAN.
