When to change the link after printing
Menus change, booking pages move, seasonal offers expire. If the QR is printed on durable media, you cannot afford to reprint every week. That is when an editable destination matters.
If the destination is permanent — a long-lived website or a one-off event that is finished — a normal downloadable static code is simpler and needs no account.
Static codes: simple and final
A static QR encodes the payload itself (URL, Wi‑Fi string, vCard). Once printed, that payload is fixed. Great for permanent links and guest Wi‑Fi that rarely changes.
Use static when you control the URL forever (your own domain) or the content will not move.
Editable flows: same print, new target
Create the code with Generate on this site when you want a stats page and room to adjust later through QRcode Global’s cabinet tools. Bookmark the statistics link right after generation — that is how you find the code again.
Editable setups shine for restaurant menus, pop-up events, product inserts and campaign posters that outlive the first landing page.
Operational checklist
Decide static vs editable before design lock. Save PNG/SVG and the stats URL in the same project folder. Test the destination on mobile data, not only office Wi‑Fi.
When you update a target, scan the physical print once to confirm the new page loads. Do not assume the CMS change alone is enough.
